How to Find Visa ARN’s
Guide to locating your visa ARN’s for enrollment
How to Find and Add Your Visa ARNs
Visa ARNs (Acquirer Reference Numbers) are required to enroll in Visa RDR (Rapid Dispute Resolution). These numbers tell Visa which merchant accounts belong to you so alerts can be routed correctly.
To successfully enable RDR through ChargeResolve, you’ll need to provide at least 2–4 Visa ARNs for your processor.
Step 1: What is a Visa ARN?
- A Visa Acquirer Reference Number (ARN) is a unique identifier issued by Visa that connects your transactions to your acquiring bank or processor.
- ARNs are not the same as your Merchant ID (MID) or BIN. Instead, they are specific references that Visa uses for dispute and alert routing.
Step 2: How to Find Your ARNs
You can obtain your ARNs in a few ways:
- Processor Dashboard / Merchant Portal
- Check your merchant or settlement reports.
- Look in chargeback/dispute reports or merchant profile sections.
- Settlement Statements
- ARNs may appear in daily or monthly Visa settlement files provided by your processor.
- Contact Your Processor / Acquirer
- If you can’t find ARNs online, contact your processor’s support team.
- Ask specifically for:
“Visa ARNs for my merchant accounts used for dispute alert enrollment.”
Step 3: Add ARNs to Your Enrollment Settings
Once you’ve collected at least 2–4 Visa ARNs:
- Log into your ChargeResolve dashboard.
- Go to Enrollment Settings for your processor.
- Under the Visa ARNs section, input your ARNs one by one.
- Save changes.
